Blocked in your creativity

This is a beautiful part of Portugal. And here I'm at a place called Pura Vida, which is an ecological retreat center resort, they do a lot of yoga retreats here, and surfing retreats because we're very close to great surfing places and an animal sanctuary, as well. And one of the reasons that I kind of came here is, I speak, you know, every week about creativity, I film videos like this, about creativity, about innovation, about thinking about the future. But it's really important for me, as a thought leader in this space to also take time out for myself. And to kind of reset a little bit and think a little bit differently. And one of the things that I found, and it's different ways that you can if you're feeling blocked in your creativity in one way or the other, or you're just looking to get new perspectives, one of the easiest things you can do is just change the physical place in which you're in. Now, that doesn't mean having to get in a plane and fly 1000s of miles away, it can sometimes just mean walking a different route to work, for example, or just going to maybe a different beach or a different forest near you're going to go into a museum and sitting there with a cup of tea cup of coffee and just sitting kind of looking around you and observing the world.

How to Overcome Creative Blocks

But one of the quickest ways you can kind of get yourself out of any type of creative rut or kind of have your creative blocks is just to change the physical environment that you're in. Here for me, also helps me bring back to myself when being in nature in this beautiful location as well. I get to kind of defocus I've spoken about this in previous videos my video and Stockholm I filmed recently, this idea that sometimes you have to do very focused work we really focusing on what we're doing and building out that initiative that project that that new thing that we've created, but sometimes we need to defocus and for me, changing environment, especially getting out in more rural environments like this allows me to kind of defocus and approach problems with a new light. So try that for yourself and let me know in the comments. How do you where do you like to go in order to kind of change your physical environment if you're wanting to open up yourself to new ways of thinking? My name is James Taylor. Thanks for watching.
