Discovering the Power of Storytelling

Hello there, I'm James Taylor, a keynote speaker on creativity, innovation, and future trends. Currently, I'm in beautiful Casablanca, Morocco, in Northern Africa. I'm here to speak to one of the world's largest payment companies and their clients from around the world. Come along with me and see how we get on.

Just now, I've come offstage in Casablanca, Morocco, after a great session. It was attended by 160 bankers from all over the African continent. The audience was very interactive, and the client and I decided to make the session really engaging and collaborative, considering that attendees were from different organizations. I taught them a series of creative thinking tools, and by the end of the session, 95% of the audience raised their hand, claiming they now consider themselves creative, a significant shift from the initial 5% who thought so at the start. It's always fulfilling to see that transformation in the room as a speaker.

As a speaker, when traveling to different places, I always learn from other people's stories. Here in Morocco, there is a phrase that says, "when a storyteller dies, a library burns." It means that everyone has stories within them, and we have to share them if they can be useful or help others. Coming off stage today, many people approached me, saying they were inspired to learn about becoming speakers, and some even overcame their fear of public speaking. I act as a messenger to share other people's stories with audiences, hoping to create a transformation in the room.
